students and EDUCATORS voice a shift in learning

Zoe describes her redesigned 5th grade Math experience.

“The Bee Project was the first time I realized how much of an impact I have on the environment. We were learning decimals, but you didn’t think this was a math class. I just thought about how I was helping the environment.”

Ron and Nicole discuss how this work brings the FPS Learner Profile to Life in the classroom.

“This work makes learning real, it makes it authentic, it makes students care about it, it makes it meaningful. This work gives me faith in what I am teaching, and it gives students faith in what they are learning because they can see it in the real world.”

Dawn shares how authentic learning sparks excitement for her and her students.

“This work has been eye-opening. Now I give kids an opportunity to think outside the four walls of our classroom. We have such a rich classroom conversation. It’s so different than hoping kids raise their hands.”
